2024 - December 7

On Saturday, December 7th, we hosted the inaugural Wayland Hoops for Home Court 3v3 Fundraiser at Wayland High School and Middle School. The event was a resounding success, featuring 36 teams, 128 players, 4 Commissioners, and dozens of volunteers, with over 400 raffle tickets sold!

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we raised an impressive $22,195—a fantastic accomplishment for our first 3v3 event. We are grateful to the generous sponsors and supporters who share our vision for the Wayland Community Sports Center.

The day was filled with uplifting stories and spirited competition across all age groups. Our 1st and 2nd graders showcased remarkable determination, many participating in their first organized games, including a thrilling 1-0 finish in one match!

The competition grew fierce in the older age brackets as teams battled in four groupings. While older players had an advantage, next year we will address the age disparities based on our experiences from this event.

Congratulations to the Three Amigos from Weston for winning the crowded 7th/8th grade bracket against the formidable Beavers team from Wayland. It was one of many exciting games!

A heartfelt thank you to our high school and adult volunteers, and to Donny Guerinoni for his leadership with Wayland Youth Basketball, which set the tone for this remarkable event.

Many teams and families raised funds beforehand to support our WCSC initiatives, and the top fundraising teams, the Happy Hollow Celtics, THE GOATS, Flames, and Hard Court Hitman, each won 4 Sox tickets thanks to our partnership with the Red Sox, including on-field access and passes to the Rooters Club.

Special thanks to Will Walters for securing 10 fantastic raffle prizes, including a last-minute Bruins package he received via FedEx just before the event.

We sold raffle tickets at both gyms, and we appreciate the support of our hosts at Lee’s Farms Holiday Market and Art’s Wayland Holiday Markets, along with our dedicated high school volunteers who managed those tables.

Lastly, here’s

Thank you all for making this event a huge success!

Thanks to our incredible sponsors! These businesses stepped up to support our efforts in a big way! We have some local sponsors who stepped up financially.  Plase go out of your way to support these businesses.

We have to thank Gulf Oil and YATCO.  It was with their generosity we produced gorgeous t-shirts that all the kids and volunteers got.
